The Difference Between Understanding and Knowing
As I’ve embarked on this new adventure in edibles and THC consumption, I’ve discovered a lot of things I technically knew the definitions of, but never really understood them fully from a personal perspective. I’d like to share some of my observations for those who might not have started their own journey, or for whom, it’s also still new.
- Trip, Tripping – Yes, we all know people refer to consuming weed as “a trip” or “tripping” but what I didn’t realize before I tried it myself, is how literal this description is. From the time of consumption (be it smoking, or edible, or whatever), through the build-up, to the peak of the high, and the eventual come down, it’s literally a journey. It’s an adventure. It takes you places, even if it’s just mentally or emotionally.
- High – Another very literal word, everyone knows it means to be under the influence, but again, it’s also very accurately descriptive of the experience; i.e. you can literally feel like you’re high in the sky or floating, or somewhere above your physical body.
- Blunt – I realized as my edible was kicking in the other night, that the edges were blunted. All the hard corners and sharp pieces of life were rounding out and smoothing. In effect, everything was blunted as it kicked in.
- Euphoria – You see this word used to describe the effects of THC. And I always knew the dictionary definition, but not the actual experience of the word. During my adventures, I’ve experienced euphoria, rapture, bliss, joy, and other feelings that I never truly knew the meaning of before. It’s like nothing I’ve experienced sober. The feelings are all-encompassing and truly, deeply, pleasant.
