The Start of Something New
I never tried pot when I was a kid. I was always very repulsed by the very thought of smoking or inhaling anything, so it was never something I wanted to do. I’ve never been a drinker either – I just have no taste for it – so everyone in my friend’s group always had a built-in designated driver.
And this was fine. I admit, I was curious and wondered, but not enough to overcome my aversion to smoking. Years went by and now I’m in my mid-40’s and I have a lot of chronic health issues, such a lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I spend a lot of time unfortunately dealing with pain and stiffness and just being uncomfortable much of the time. I don’t take any painkillers, so I’m just often kind achy and miserable if I’m being honest.
Medical marijuana became legal here in Florida a few years ago. And it kind reminded me that we’ve come a long way from the 90’s when I was a teenager and weed was what you did in secret. The problem is that it’s several hundred dollars to get started on your card and there hasn’t been a good time recently for that kind of extra expense.
Even more recently though, I started hearing about legal options without a medical card for hemp-derived THC and started looking into those. What a wonderful world this has opened up for me! I finally got to experience my first ever “high” and have a new found appreciation for what cannabis can offer in terms of pain relief, sleep, and mood improvement.
And that’s where this blog comes in. I wanted to share my reviews and experiences with various edibles so others who are looking for information would have a chance to learn a little more about products before they purchase them. It’s my hope to help others who are in a similar situation and give them a little encouragement to try something new.
